We are planning to renovate the "small bathroom." We want to get rid of the large radiator on the wall and create a sense of a larger space. We've talked about underfloor heating instead. The basement below is heated. We have waterborne central heating with geothermal energy. What are your thoughts? I'm attaching a photo of the bathroom as it is now and a drawing of the floor construction. I haven't opened the floor yet, which means I'm not sure about the construction. I've seen in other rooms that the floor is built on 45x200 beams. The idea is to remove the tiles, the poured concrete slab, and the fill material. So I'm wondering: Is it okay to switch to underfloor heating? If so, which floor construction should we aim for? Small bathroom with tiled floor, large radiator on the left, toilet, sink, round rug, and a trash bin. Renovation planned to remove radiator. Cross-section drawing of a bathroom floor construction with layers labeled, including concrete slab, fill material, and pipes.

A lot of work for a small bathroom :=) Why not replace the radiator with a larger model towel warmer (water-based, of course)?

So, we are not renovating the bathroom to avoid the radiator. We want to change the appearance of the bathroom, make it bigger, and therefore maybe switch to underfloor heating.
