I just renovated the staircase, painted it white, and then laid laminate on the steps.
But my partner doesn't want an aluminum stair nose but a white wooden trim.
And I don't know what kind of trim to use. Are there any special trims for that purpose?
It should be pre-painted white if available?
Just did the same procedure as you last fall with laminate on the steps. I used a strip similar to the one KOW links to as a stair nose. To protect the strips from wear, I painted them with a durable Jotun Lady paint. It has worked great and I can't see any noticeable wear on the stairs. If any wear occurs and becomes bothersome, you can simply touch up with more paint

Thanks for the tip! I can only find strips that are 43mm; the one I need must be 50mm. Otherwise, it won't cover the entire front of the stairs, resulting in an edge at the bottom, which won't look very nice. :/
