Hi!
I have plans for façade renovation of a 53 sqm frost-damaged brick façade where about 30-40 bricks are more or less cracked or broken, and the mortar has loosened on larger parts of the façade. The other three façades are fine, so it's only this one I'm planning to address. I want a light/white appearance, but it doesn't have to be plaster. As I understand it, the work of chiseling out joints and filling them with mortar is quite time-consuming, but what might it cost? Both in material cost and if you hire someone to do it. Does anyone have experience with similar work, and how did you proceed?

Option 1
Repair the brick wall and re-mortar the entire façade (fill the broken bricks with mortar) and then paint it with a suitable paint or coat the whole thing white with slaked lime.

Option 2
White-through colored fiber cement panels from, for example, Cembrit cost around 400 SEK/sqm including the framework, then you let the underlying material look as it is.
