In my excavated basement, the ceiling is a cast slab where planks were used as a mold.
I am now going to smooth out the ceiling with filler, and my first problem is where the concrete has formed hanging seams between the planks.
Do I dare to go at it with a hammer and chisel to remove the seams, or is there a risk that I will create cracks in the ceiling/floor?
Is it perhaps better to use an angle grinder?

Hard to say without having seen them, concrete grinding on the ceiling seems like a hassle. I would have placed a thin batten and some finished ceiling. That way, you can also hide some cabling etc.

A concrete arch that is formworked with raw lumber boards, which was extremely common in the past, cannot be made smooth with a successful result unless it is a very small area. Use battens and panels if necessary instead.

The worst stripes can be knocked off, the vault doesn't crack, but then you just paint it white, it's charming when you can see the grain and seams.
