Hello,

I'm planning to mount a TV on a plasterboard wall. It's a bit tricky because behind the plasterboard there's a sliding door, so no screw can protrude at the back. At least one screw. This will probably stop the sliding door from moving at the back.

My idea is to reinforce the wall with a wooden board that will be placed behind the TV.

It's a 55" TV and the wall is about 1.5 meters wide.

I would appreciate any tips on smart solutions.

A board/plank attached from stud to stud would probably be the easiest for you.

Yes, that solution is probably good.

What type of screw/plug had you used? Keep in mind that it should hold a TV and that one of the screws must not protrude on the back side.

I had previously gone with the suggestion of a board between the studs to attach to. I probably would have installed a plywood board.
Then in this, I would have mounted tee nuts before putting up the board.
So like this from the back which you then screw the wall bracket into.

Metal t-nut fastener for attaching wall brackets, viewed from above.
