I live in a terraced house where our living room wall is connected to the neighbor's storage wall.
I would like to dampen the sounds from the storage area somehow, preferably without losing significant space in my own living room.
I've considered acoustic panels, which seem to be popular, but the question is if they should be installed in the neighbor's storage instead to block the sound from there. Or how does it work? Any other tips?

Double layers of 12.5 mm plasterboard overlapped/staggered 15-30cm with lots of plasterboard screws every 15cm over the entire surface through both layers of plasterboard and wall, forming a bond. I built a soundproof home theater this way, and the mass of the plasterboard and bonding technique absorbs nearly all frequencies. Then plaster and paint or wallpaper, plasterboard and plasterboard screws are very cheap and only take up barely 3cm of wall depth.GrönAnna said:
