Raised basement floor without problems or moisture
In the basement of my house, there is a large recreation room built in 1976. The floor is elevated there. Under the floor, the concrete slab is painted with a water-repellent paint/glue (the previous owner is old and says glue). There is no smell in the basement, moisture levels are perfect, and the air and temperature are comfortable all the time in the basement. I have now removed the old carpet that was there and simply want to lay a new, fresher one in a different color. Is this a bad idea? Should I remove the elevation, etc.? Grateful for all help and answers!

Thank you so much, I will definitely do that! I'll immediately call a friend with a moisture meter and look into it☺️
I was so surprised that it was raised because it was not mentioned at all in the inspection when I bought the house. I should have investigated more about that, but yes... I guess I can blame it on working in a completely different industry and maybe being a bit naive.
Would be interesting to see what values you get.P Pånytt said:No!

Got help with the measurement and was only informed that it was in a good range and that there was no moisture beyond what is considered okay, for example, if one were to paint outside. Excuse my lack of knowledge in this area, but it felt good☺️P peppestc said:
