Hello! I want to raise the garage ceiling by about 60 cm. I have a hipped roof, which makes the construction quite more complicated. Unfortunately, I don't have construction drawings for the hipped part.

Yes, good structural engineers don't grow on trees. Ideally, you should find one from the old school who can do calculations without software. They usually get the job done quickly with their extensive experience.M magnil said:
Rebuilding all the trusses can take some time. You will definitely need to reinforce all the upper arms and also move the diagonals as they will no longer form a triangular shape.
Or you can lift the entire roof 60cm 🙂

There's no sense in modifying existing roof trusses. All dimensions will be off if you want to switch from a truss to a raised A-truss or scissor truss.
It's more efficient in both time and cost to replace it with the correct type directly.

Raising the entire roof is an option, but it should be considerably more expensive? (It's for just over half the length of the garage I plan to raise).
Unfortunately, I no longer have an experienced old designer to contact.
Maybe it's better to completely replace the roof trusses. Does an A-truss work with a hip roof? Didn't manage to find that with googling.
