What does the panel think about Q-wood, which is currently appearing in TV commercials?
Has anyone seen it in real life?

It's certainly a good price for it...whatever it was..::)

Very interesting. But what are the planks made of? Plastic? What type of wood? It doesn't say anywhere on the website.

It is clearly wood we are talking about. Most likely something from the rainforest considering it is certified by the Word Wildlife Fund. This would mean that it is not deforestation of the forest in question.

I have seen a 30cm long piece in real life and am completely set on building my future deck in that material! I probably won't oil it but let it become a nice teak-gray over the years.

Does anyone know what it costs?

Strange that the type of wood is not mentioned anywhere......"very hard and oil-rich wood" icon_confused.gif

Could be azobe, which is a very moisture-resistant, extremely hard and durable type of wood = invest in good saws ;) If you build the whole house out of azobe, you will definitely avoid rot problems :D Contact them and you will surely get an answer.

The cost is 50:- per linear meter, the decking is 95mm

so now you have something to calculate....... ;)

the problem is that the supplier only wants to deliver whole packages :P (naturally without specifying exactly how many meters there are) so you should have a good relationship with your lumber yard
to see if they want to take in whole packages and keep them in stock!

I saw the TV commercial again now, and it was 38 kr/m.
When I wrote the above I had misunderstood the thing and thought it was 38 kr/sqm. :-[
In my defense, I can say that when I wrote it, I didn't even know if it was wood or plastic. :)
Undeniably a certain difference... regular 95x28 costs around ten kronor per meter. Go pressure-treated pine.

High-pressure compressed skitträ that is pressure-oiled?
Maybe?

is a bit ugly advertising, the interesting part is per m2 and not per m...

so eager to build the veranda with it, but also to boycott the crap for skewed marketing...

I'm sorry, but there is no text provided for translation. Could you please provide the text you want translated into English?

Just laid S-trall from Q-wood, it turned out incredibly nice, and we did it over the midsummer weekend, 60 sqm. If you think it's expensive, the closest alternative is Teak at 180-200:- per linear meter, we paid 38:- per linear meter at ekessiö in Bromma including home delivery. Does anyone know if it should be oiled and if so, which oil is good? There are so many brands to choose from.

Saw it at Fredells for 38 SEK per running meter. If it's 95 mm wide plus a small gap, it becomes 380/m2 plus 5-10% waste.

Add to that joists, blocks, crushed stone, fabric, concrete, screws, mounting details, it will probably land around 470/m2 but it looks nice, especially compared to all those green decks out there :-)
