Can painted exterior paneling be used instead of OSB? I have a lot leftover that's already set up in the room (previously an open area but has been closed off now).
Sure you can, but it's doubtful if it will turn out well. If it's an old exterior panel already on the wall, you also risk it becoming cold in the room since the exterior panel is usually mounted on an air gap.
