Hello,
I am going to remove a section of a load-bearing wall on the ground floor of a 4-story brick house and now need a beam to support the ceiling.
The entire wall is approximately 7600mm wide, 3200mm high, 500mm deep, and the section to be removed is 3000mm from one side. I have hired an engineer who is helping me with the drawings and construction.
My question is:
Are there ready-made beams available for purchase that can be cut to the right length, or do I need to custom order from a blacksmith or contractor?
