I have a summer cottage where we plan to repaint the cabinet doors. But I would really like to replace the tiles with another, but I don't actually have more money to spend on this project.
But... I'm still a bit tempted. What kind of money are we talking about? Maybe a silly question, but I really have no idea...
So, in the picture below. The black tiles need to come down. Simple white tiles about 15x15 in a "stretcher bond" pattern need to go up, and they need to be grouted.
For a craftsman, that's about 4 hours of work. 3 hours to lay the tiles and 1 hour to grout. It’s about 2 square meters in total.
Calculate 2200 minus rot on the work = 1540. The material itself will land around 1500. I've estimated the tiles cost 500 SEK per square meter. Adhesive and grout cost 400-500.
In total, you'll pay 3000-3500 including everything if you outsource it.
But taking down the old and putting up new plasterboard is extra.
Exactly. I assumed he would take down the old tiles himself, but that wasn't included. I don't think he needs to install new plasterboard, I've never done that and I've renovated multiple properties.
Yep, I mean hiring a craftsman.
The tiles are simple white costing 99kr/sqm so basically no money there.
I would prefer the craftsman to tear away the old ones, I'm afraid I might take parts of the wall with it.
3tkr for everything I can survive.
That should be doable, right?
Yes, I mean hiring a tradesperson.

I can survive 3k for everything.
Is that doable?
No, that's not enough if the tradesperson is also going to demolish and install new drywall, fetch materials, who disposes of the waste? I'm a bit allergic to overly optimistic estimates... it could cost 8000kr including VAT before ROT.
3tkr for everything I can survive. That should be manageable?
Just ask some handymen for quotes to find out what they consider a reasonable time allocation and thereby price.

Simple white tiles, type 15x15 in “förband” should be installed
If by "förband" you mean that the tiles should not be directly above each other, then I wonder if it looks good with square tiles instead of the elongated tiles usually used in such cases.
