Hello.
Has anyone installed a glass railing on an indoor staircase? What was the cost for this and which materials were used for the posts etc.?
Photos would be greatly appreciated.
We plan to open up the ceiling in the hallway of our house (1 1/2 floors) where the staircase is. Then we want to have a glass railing that continues around the opened area. Altogether, it might be about 7 meters, of which about half is on the actual staircase.
Which companies in Västernorrland do such work?
It seems difficult to find general prices on the internet.
I want to get some information before it's time. (and prepare myself to avoid getting a heart attack from the price shock)

I ordered a stair railing with white wooden slats, 3 posts (white), and a handrail in aluminum (I think) which I plan to stain to match the rest of the room. The whole thing cost between 4-5k SEK for 2 meters. I saw that the same company had made a similar one but with glass, however no prices were listed but I would guess more than 2k SEK/meter.

I googled it a bit and found this website http://www.rackesbutiken.se/glas-klamfasten/ where you can calculate the price.
There are so many factors that affect the price. The shape and color of the glass. How will the glass be mounted, with clamps or inside a frame? But a rough estimate is around 15000 for the glass plus potential clamps for maybe 3-500 SEK each if those are used.
I would definitely recommend laminated glass, then you don't fall through even if they break.
