I mean, I'm starting to get tired. How do I install the baseboard if I'm going to have beadboard that's 12mm, and the baseboard is like 10mm at the top? I can't put it under the beadboard but have to put it on the beadboard, but then the trim and baseboard won't align in height. And I would like to have base blocks, how do I do that? If I put the door trims also on the beadboard, there will be a 12mm gap between the trim and the wall from chest height and up. If I put in a finishing strip there, it will make the trim 27mm thick. Help, how should it be? There are no clear pictures online.

Hi! How did you finally solve your problem? I'm in exactly the same situation and I also think that if I put a board, the door frame will look too thick... I would be very grateful if you could help me. Best regards!

Hi, it worked out damn well! I cut the masonite board at 3 or 6 mm, can't remember, into long narrow strips so they were 2 cm lower in height than the baseboard itself, then glued and nailed with a nail gun on the backside of all the baseboards. Then I just placed the baseboard and trim as usual against the wall and nailed, then placed the beadboard on the baseboard. I cut the baseboard corners at 45 degrees to fit with the trim height.

Remind me to take better close-up pictures on Sunday if I forget!!

Even böstlistens hörn I adjusted 45 degrees so it matches the height against the moldings

Hi! I was thinking you might be able to help me. I have installed beadboard in the hallway and don't know how to finish the corners at the stairs, which don't have any beadboard. Thanks so much for your help! 😸
The only one:
Wall corner with beadboard paneling transitioning to a plain white wall, showing the end of the panel in a hallway near stairs. Paneling ends abruptly at an unfinished corner near a staircase area.
The other one:
Close-up of a hallway corner with beadboard, showing unfinished edges near stairs without beadboard, highlighting installation challenge.

  • Corner detail with beadboard on one wall and plain painted surface on the other; unfinished edge visible between them near a staircase.

Can't you put an angle strip in wood?

Yes. But how do I do that? Do I place it on top of the beadboard or do I have to trim the last beadboard to the width of the corner strip?
