I have a house with a slab on grade.
I have encountered embedded joists in the concrete that are now gone.
It was built like this before:
Slab, moisture barrier, cell plastic, chipboard, skid protection, and parquet.
I would like to move away from chipboard!
Is it possible to use gypsum instead of chipboard?

enough that it goes but you're missing a spont in the plaster.
the plaster joints will move.
