I am going to install a pocket frame with a recessed sliding door between my bedroom and living room. I have just laid the floor in the apartment, which is floating without a seam between the rooms now. I wonder if it is okay to attach the frame to the parquet as stated in the installation instructions. According to the frame seller, it should work. Or should I cut out the parquet and build the wall on the joist instead?
That's exactly what we did when we installed our pocketkarm. It was the easiest way and looked nice (see image). The day the parquet needs to be replaced, that can surely be solved too...
