Two days ago, I cast plinths that will be the foundation for a cabin about 20 m2. When I went to look at the plinths today, it seems that at least the upper part of some of them have become very brittle and not cured properly.
I used a normal recipe for concrete, and we covered the top of the plinths with plastic after we watered them before leaving the construction site to protect against drying out.
Does anyone recognize the problem or can suggest what might have gone wrong? Have I waited too short before touching the concrete? Or have they dried out anyway?
What should I do now? Maybe I could try drilling into one of them to see if it's harder further down?
