The plan was to build a carport, but then it became a double garage without doors, internally drywalled with regular drywall. The question is whether we need to install doors now in winter or if it can remain with open door openings. Last winter, I had a regular lightweight tarpaulin in the door opening, and it worked fine. But now it's going to be used as a carport... do you think there will be moisture and mold on the drywall? The door opening faces north.

The records that can get rained on through the portholes may get damaged, but the others will survive the winter.

You sound confident...from personal experience?
It won't rain in, but I am worried that moisture will be driven in, or blow in and make it "wet" inside the carport...generally damp in certain weather conditions...kind of like in an unheated summer cottage...
The question is whether this will cause the gypsum to mold...

I don't think it will mold without ports, however, WITH ports with insulation without heating, there is a chance it will get so humid that it molds.
