Hello!

I'm a beginner at this renovation thing and am currently tearing out the kitchen.

We have a ceiling height of 239 but the old wall plasterboards continue down about 15 cm in a gap between the wall and the concrete floor.

Why is that? My local Byggmax only has plasterboards up to 240cm in the relevant width, which is 120cm.

Can I ignore putting the new boards down in this "hole" between the floor and the wall?

Grateful for answers.

You do not need to plaster the gap.

The kitchen floor has probably been leveled with self-leveling compound. Or similar, hence the gap.

Okay, great thanks. Then I'll just gypsum down to floor level and hope that gypsum in the gap doesn't serve any function.

There is 270 cm of plaster, but I don't understand why the board would go 15 cm below floor level.

Oh 15 cm, I carelessly read 15 mm, but the answer is the same. maybe the floor is raised. when was the house/apartment built?

The house was built in 69 and is a single-story house. Can attach a picture of the floor and wall later.
