I have been tasked by my radon mitigation expert to plaster the walls of the root cellar (located directly under the kitchen) as well as embed three pipes in the walls that face the underside of the house to use a fan to extract soil radon.

The walls consist of stones that have been mortared in place from floor to ceiling. The floor is cast. The temperature ranges from +5°C in winter to 12-14°C in summer.

The ceiling is insulated with polystyrene boards directly on the joists.

Questions:

Should I install mesh along the walls I am plastering? I was planning to use Finja Puts- och murbruk C on the walls.

How do I seal the ceiling? Is age-resistant construction plastic sufficient, or do I risk moisture damage then?

Thankful for answers!
