I have replaced some windows and the plaster has come off, it is also hollow on square meter-sized areas. The stairwell is unheated and made of brick. Towards the house, it is not brick but something wood-like, I assume, and there is fiberglass wallpaper on the walls now.
Now to the question, what should I use to plaster everything with? I would like to apply something with a slightly coarser texture all over the areas so it looks uniform, even on the sides where there are wooden walls, and then paint everything. The house is old, there is no plaster mesh or similar, should I perhaps knock everything down, apply plaster mesh? Can I apply mesh and plaster even over the wooden wall? Gypsum plaster or cement?
