I am going to re-plaster the wall of the house and thought I'd start by trying it myself and tackle the "simple" part on the right side of the basement door. Simple because the plaster seems to hold and is crack-free.

My tip is that the paint doesn't need to be removed if it's sticking, which it does. (How to remove it, I do not know.)

I've heard that reinforcement should be used, but how do I attach a fiberglass reinforcement mesh? Do you press it in while you're plastering???

Stucco wall next to a gray cellar door with coiled cables on gravel. Part of a house renovation project, focusing on the crack-free area near the door.
