Bought gypsum mortar but should have gotten joint compound to fill my newly plastered ceiling and walls! It says the mortar can be used for plastering in layers of 5-50mm. What do you think, can I use this mortar to fill in the paper tape in the seams? It wouldn't be as thick as 5mm! The mortar seems very fine in its components and I've seen coarser gypsum mortar.. :S

By the way, the plaster factory was called Rotband... is it common as plaster filler??? :(

I would not have done it. It is, although it can create a reasonably smooth surface, too coarse to use for filling plasterboard joints.

Yes, it seems to be right after feeling it a bit..

I might try taping the strip with gypsum mortar and then apply a fine sand putty as a final finish, why not complicate things if you can :D

I've got the idea that it would be a bit stronger with the gypsum mortar/putty, but maybe there's no difference?!

It's probably marginal, just go with filler and strip and you'll see it will turn out fine.

It is good for larger fillings. In the joints, it is (in my opinion) best to glue a paper strip with fabric glue and then apply sand filler or another softer filler.
