Plaster concrete walls in the basement!
Hi!!
Has anyone plastered and painted on concrete walls in a basement? I'm a bit unsure of how it will turn out... will it look "basement-like"?? I would love some tips and advice on what's nice! Pictures are welcome if you have any. We are planning to do it in the recreation room and in a hallway. :-?
Hugs, Takida

I haven't plastered, but I have painted an already plastered basement wall.
What you should keep in mind is to use a breathable paint, i.e., it "breathes", don't use any other paint!
We bought Flugger's "deksoplast", works great!
The other brands surely have similar paints for basement walls!
But we were advised about Flugger, so that's what we went with!
Of course, you can tint the paint in almost any color you want!
We tinted it towards the beige/cappuccino side! Looks great.
Good luck!

Depending on how skilled you are, you can achieve almost any level of smoothness on the wall. First, use regular plaster mortar, then apply and float a batch of fine plaster. Use Finja's products, they are really good. Good luck JohnnyZ carpenter.
hi....
I used Gipsbruk, and scrubbed it as usual with a kanitz, making moderately long strokes in a systematic sequence, then we painted over it....
I'll see if I can upload a picture of it, but it's too dark now, I think.... I'll take the picture in daylight.
