is it possible to drywall a ceiling by yourself with a support? And if so, do you have any good technique tips? I thought I'd ask here first before I try and break a sheet... it's standard drywall 120x240....

Rent a disc lift. 100 times easier and worth every penny. Which in itself wasn't that many, I remember it cost 35:-/day. A screw gun with an extension is also worth its weight in gold.

Is 120*240 still used?
Tried 90 gypsum

:) Of course it's used - even though 90 is easier to work with...

There is also probably a slight difference in price per square meter between 90 and 120 drywall.. (90 is more expensive)

We still mostly use 120 - you can use 60 studs instead of 45 then..

Working in construction or a happy amateur?
Sure, it goes faster with 120, but it wears on the body.
If you're working with 120 on a construction site, you should be two.
You can get unfortunate wear injuries in the shoulders.

Happy worker 8-)
Own small company with 2 gubbar besides myself - and they are the ones who have to carry when we handle 120-gips.. Completely agree that it is asig to manage alone - especially when it needs to be loaded onto or off a trailer....

You should hit the gym more often, guys! :)

Carried and placed both indoor plasterboard 1200*2400 and outdoor plasterboard 1200*2700 up a really long and steep stone staircase throughout the renovation/expansion.

You get strong in the body.

Heroes are everywhere. 8-)

The plaster is up now, went well with just a simple support ;) it was a bit cumbersome, but not really because of the weight, as Fein says, go to the gym, (I myself go 4 times a week).
