Plaster by stove. Previously plastered with lime mortar and something cement-based
Hello
I need to touch up around the fireplace. The plaster application will be about 20 mm.
I believe the chimney was originally plastered with a lime mortar. (The house is from the 1800s). Later, it was plastered over with a cement-based mortar. It's a very thin layer with the cement-based mortar.
Now that I'm going to plaster again, can I use C-mortar? It might be better to use KC or pure lime mortar, but I have C-mortar at home.
What do you think?
Best regards, Kristoffer

It's probably that the water I've used has soaked in more there. It looks like a superficial crack anyway, and it's been there as long as I've had the house (10 years) and the chimney sweep has never said anything.C cpalm said:

Plastic is used on concrete when it has been cast.
But if it is c compound with lime in it, then you should water it afterwards a bit. Preferably with a larger plant spray, since it is indoors. Do you have the technical name of your c compound?

Okay! Should I water it today then?N neo11 said:
