Planning to build a desk in the children's room, so I needed something simple that doesn't need to be treated too carefully and has extra depth.
Bought a board

In okay condition, but I discovered there are wormholes. I'm wondering if there might still be pests and if that's a problem? I have, among other things, oak parquet flooring and walls made of Masonite, so they might find those tasty to move on to.
And if so, is there anything that can be done to eradicate them? For example, the backside can look like this

If you mean that it is wood-boring beetles (or, woodworm) that made the holes, there is nothing you need to worry about. They cannot survive in a heated dwelling. They need high humidity in the wood, and you don't have that indoors if it's a house heated year-round.
Edit: I just saw that you had an image link. Is it your board?
It sounds a bit odd that there would be wood-boring beetles in a newly purchased board. It looks more like something that existed in the tree when it was a living tree.

Hi, not exactly mine but they look similar, it might be that they were in the tree before it was cut down, but how do you know if it's active or inactive insects? Tried with a wire in the holes but can't get anything out anyway.Jiji said:

It seems a bit strange that there would be wood-boring beetles in a newly purchased board. It looks more like something that existed in the tree when it was a living tree.
