I am installing wainscoting, and it must be at a certain height according to my partner. The problem is that it ends up in the middle of a light switch. So half is on the panel and half on the smooth wall. Has anyone encountered this, and if so, how did you handle it?

Move the switch up one dm and maintain domestic peace.

or you make a small neat arch with a higher panel right at the switch

Have a serious talk about reasonableness and cost/benefit with your partner. It’s about raising/lowering the wainscoting by about 5 cm. An aesthetic concession that saves a lot of work.

Best regards, Wasa
