I am installing wainscoting, and it must be at a certain height according to my partner. The problem is that it ends up in the middle of a light switch. So half is on the panel and half on the smooth wall. Has anyone encountered this, and if so, how did you handle it?
Have a serious talk about reasonableness and cost/benefit with your partner. It’s about raising/lowering the wainscoting by about 5 cm. An aesthetic concession that saves a lot of work.
