Planning to build a vacation home and considering installing horizontal white prefinished paneling on all walls (except the bathroom).
On the exterior walls, there's no issue with skipping the chipboard/drywall and nailing the paneling directly to the studs. But I'm wondering about the interior walls, should you put chipboard on at least one side? Mainly thinking about soundproofing?
The house will be assembled by the house provider as a weatherproof and insulated shell, and then I'll hire carpenters to frame the interior walls and install ceiling panels. I'm thinking of installing the paneling myself to keep costs down.
