We have hired a company to replace the roofing on the house, including tiles, fascia boards, gutters, etc. The job is now complete, and we are scheduled for an inspection/joint review with the contractor next week. I have noticed that the fascia boards are only painted on the outside. The question is whether it is customary to have the inside of the fascia boards unpainted? In the written order, it is only specified as "replacement of fascia boards," and verbally, it was only mentioned, in response to my question about whether the fascia boards can be painted at this time of year, that "we paint them at home" before bringing them out. //Kenth Rosén

Yes, it is customary to paint the wind boards on the inside as well. Otherwise, black mold, etc., can quickly develop.

I would say that painting both sides with modern paint shortens the lifespan.

Do you have your trärena on the inside?

Rickard.
If the backsides are very visible, then there's reason to paint, but if they aren't, then absolutely not.

Normally, painted wood should breathe easily in one direction.
Painting an inside that is not visible increases the risk of the wood rotting.

If you're careful, you can prime the inside with oil.

Thank you for your answers.
