Hello

I am renovating a kitchen and have put up repair plasterboard and filled the seams and screw heads.

There will be a splashback that goes up 20cm above the countertop, and above that it will be painted.

Two questions: can you paint directly on the plasterboard? Or what is the best way?

Then I have filled over the screw heads, but I am worried that they will show through. How is this best handled? Is there any fabric/tapetachtige that should be put up before painting? I want a smooth surface.

Renovated kitchen with dark wood cabinets, a partially installed backsplash, and drywall with joint compounds. Tools and materials are on a table in front.

Microlit.

The normal thing is to paint directly on plaster, that's why you use plaster.

If you want an extra durable surface, smooth fiberglass fabric on gypsum is good. Just expect that it will absorb a lot of paint.

Can you open all the cabinets? Looks like it's very close to the ceiling.

yep, no problem

We'll probably try painting directly on, and if that doesn't work, we'll apply a väv and paint again.
