Hello!
I have seen that there are several threads on the forum with questions similar to ours, but every project is unique in its own way, I think.

We have bought a new house with an attached uninsulated outbuilding. In this outbuilding, we plan to build a guest room that will be used a few weekends a year. The part where we plan to have the guest room is currently a workshop with what seems like a stable wooden floor.

Old workshop with wooden workbench and shelves in deteriorating condition, exposed beams, and a cabinet, viewed inside an uninsulated outbuilding. Interior of an unfinished workshop with wooden floor, exposed beams, and a workbench. Walls show signs of age and repair, with window openings boarded up. Man standing in old workshop with wooden flooring, surrounded by unfinished walls and ceiling. Blue tarp and various materials are visible in the room. Interior of an old wooden outbuilding with open door, exposed beams, boarded-up window, and a covered cabinet, intended for conversion into a guest room. Interior of an old wooden outbuilding with unfinished walls and empty window openings, planned for conversion into a guest room. Old workshop with wooden floors, exposed beams, and a partially open entrance. Walls are rustic and shelves are visible in the background. Inside view of a rustic workshop area with wooden beams, a wheelbarrow, and a wooden floor, intended to be converted into a guest room. An unfinished workshop with wooden beams, trusses, and a floor, planned for conversion into a guest room. Visible are a table, shelves, and a boarded-up window.

We plan to have a wall where the wooden floor ends. There are two window holes currently sealed that we want to open up and put windows back into.

We want to ask those of you with experience in the subject, what you think we should consider before we start building.

We are comfortable with not adhering to every building code and regulation as we won't be living here, and the room doesn't need to have an energy class A+. But that said, we do want the room to be protected from moisture and mold. There will be no water and drainage, only electricity.

We want to do as much as possible ourselves to keep costs down.

Can someone give us tips on good sites, links, and guides with descriptions from similar projects? How to create moisture barriers in walls, floors, and roofs? How to insulate, install wind barrier sheeting, and in what order?
