New roof for barbecue roof. In what?

We have acquired a grill shelter where the roof is made of some kind of fabric. Ideally, I would like to replace it with some kind of plastic roof.

Where can you find something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

Could it work with oil-hardened masonite? It rains quite a bit...

Comfortable when it rains a little. Guests sit under the pavilion and I grill.

Since there are different types and designs of grill roofs, it is difficult to make suggestions when we don't know what yours looks like.

Is it collapsible?
Do you want soft or hard plastic?
How is the fabric attached today?
Etc?
