How do I restore the walls in the cheapest and easiest way? Is it even worth spending time on spackling?

Do you think a wallpaper remover will get rid of all the dried glue?

  • Peeling wallpaper reveals a stained wall underneath; room has open door and dark floor.
  • A partially stripped wall with patches and old adhesive remains, adjacent to a door, amidst discussions on renovation and adhesive removal.

You're not supposed to restore it. Isn't the tenant supposed to cover the cost?!

Signposted fire extinguisher outside the door and bars on the window suggest that it is not an ordinary private individual who rented it.

Assume you should look at the contract if you want to cast a shadow on someone...

As for the glue, it's probably easiest to glue on renovation wallpaper and paint...

But, renovation wallpaper does not take care of very large irregularities. I learned this the hard way. It's also expensive.

You need to putty; no renovation wallpaper hides too large unevennesses..

I had started by sanding with the giraffe and 40 grit paper

Too bad, one might also consider putting up renovation plasterboard.

If they are drywall (hard to see) you can also take them down and put up new drywall.

Surely you take money from the risk margin you had on the rent and hire someone to fix it.

What kind of activity required soundproofing and soft walls?

Studio?
But as a tenant, you can't make all kinds of alterations, so I also think the deposit should cover this job?

Or you rent it out again to someone else with the same business and keep the deposit. Then you can increase the rent because it is adapted for a studio or whatever it may be.

Anything other than renovation plaster feels very cost-driving...
