Hello.

I have an old cottage from the 60s where I'm going to move a doorway about 60cm.
The wall is an old exterior wall but is now an interior wall.
It consists of the following:
1. Tretex
2. Tongue and groove
3. 45x45
4. Tongue and groove
5. Inner panel

My thought was to skip tongue and groove on one side and instead go up to 70x45 studs and put a board with construction plywood on the other side of the wall. Instead of Tretex on one side and inner panel on the other side, it will be 13mm gypsum...

The question is whether it's structurally better to set plywood -> 45x45 -> plywood to mimic the original construction....

Best regards,

/Frippe

The question is whether construction-wise it's better to place plyfa -> 45x45 -> plyfa
The advantage of plyfa is that you get a wall on which you can easily attach pictures, hooks, and other various items, so I would probably choose plyfa on both sides of the studs. On the outside, you can replace the tretex with gypsum to get the same wall thickness.
