Hello everyone,
We are keen to move an interior door that is on an inner wall in our inner hallway to improve the floor plan. The apartment building is from 1887, and the wall is about 10 cm thick and approximately 2 meters long (directly connected to the wall surrounding the elevator in the stairwell). The door is to be moved about 60 cm to the right (see picture).
I would assume the wall is not load-bearing, and in that case, the move should not be a problem, but I would like to hear your thoughts on this. I am attaching drawings from the renovation of the house that took place in 1984. Our apartment is marked in blue, the current door opening in red, and where it is to be moved with an orange arrow. I have also attached an as-built drawing that looks a bit different, but where an explanation of wall materials, etc., can be found in the upper right corner.
Worth mentioning is that the association has kind of approved the door move as long as the wall is not load-bearing.
Thanks in advance for the help!
