Hello
I need tips from carpentry-savvy people on how to mount a wall lamp when the wall is curved. We have a spiral staircase in the house and would like to have a wall lamp here.

I assume you need to make a plate between the wall and the lamp mount that is curved on one side and straight on the other.
What's the smartest way to do this, how do you measure the "angle" of the wall's curve most efficiently?

Grateful for guidance here.

Which lamp were you thinking of?
A slim rackare will, so to speak, solve the matter by itself.

Thanks for the response. Yes, that's true. If what is against the wall is narrow enough, it's not such a big deal.
I don't have any specific lamp in mind yet, but it is quite a large area.

Of course, it depends on what kind of lamp you choose and what tools you have. But tracing the curvature of the wall on paper by, for example, drawing a line with a thick-shafted pen that rolls against the wall (or a regular pen guided through a washer, tape roll, or something else round) can be a start. Then you transfer that curvature to a piece of wood and start working on it.

One can also place spacers behind the screws. Depends on how the plate and attachment points look.
