Mosaic on plastic?

moved to a new apartment with the ugliest fläktskåpa I've ever seen. can't remove it, painting it doesn't help. Therefore, I thought I could put mosaic on the whole thing. Does anyone know if it's possible and if there's anything I should consider?

Can't you build a "box" and put it around the fan hood? The box can then be painted or covered.

have thought about it but it's a big thing with lots of angles and corners. actually think it can get worse than it is now, plus there's a big cabinet next to it
