Hey,
I'm planning to put up a partition wall between the bedroom and living room, and it needs to be as thin as possible (45mm studs at 45cm centers). However, I want to hang a couple of electric guitars on the wall (which will be wallpapered), but it feels a bit weak with plasterboard. Ideally, I would like plywood, but it's not good as a wallpaper base. Is there perhaps a plaster-like board that is a bit sturdier?
/M

Put an OSB under the plasterboard

Place plywood between the studs where you plan to hang something. It doesn't add thickness. Plaster the side where you're going to have the guitars first, and "hang" the plywood strips in the plasterboard. It's the easiest.

Mark where the guitars should hang if you have to use single drywall. Otherwise, use plywood/OSB/particleboard and then drywall, or double drywall.

Even ultraboard and such fermacell.

15 mm fire-resistant gypsum board harder-stiffer board

Cool! Is this like a regular 13 mm board that is 15 mm, or have they done something special more? :)

it is harder, easier to saw than to cut when you trim it, and it is equivalent to double gypsum in fire protection

Cool! Thanks for sharing. I probably should have used that instead of single gypsum that I put on a wall to avoid moving the frame or putting a shim on the trim.

Ultraboard if you only want/can have one board and want the gypsum's other properties, it can be directly screwed into or set with drywall anchors/Molly. Chipboard can otherwise work for wallpapering. Alternatively, you can screw the hangers onto a decorative board/panel. An advantage of this is that the guitars end up a bit further from the wall. There are ready-made solutions, but it's more fun to create something music-inspired yourself.

O
Many overestimate the properties of ultraboard (there are several others), it is absolutely harder and can handle more loads but not more moments. So it rarely helps to use this board.

It is much better to inset OSB between the studs or alternatively use metal straps.
