How should one consider moisture content in a column foundation? I think visible parts would be more affected by the outdoor air's humidity than, for example, in a closed crawl space?

The season should also have an impact?

We tested some parts today that looked dry and nice but showed about 20 percent moisture content. But it is the end of October and cloudy weather. Should we be worried?

A pillar foundation is generally very moisture-proof. You don't need to worry as long as the sides haven't been enclosed.

So a higher moisture content in the wood during autumn is not something to worry about?
