Hello!
Our garage is built with both wooden walls and masonry walls. Against the masonry, I have been advised to put studs, mineral wool, and plastic under the drywall on the walls that will not be backfilled. On the wall that will be backfilled, I should not have plastic.
The other day when I was going to put up the drywall, the space and insulation were very damp/wet. The masonry wall without plastic was dry. The wall was built in October, and the roof has been in place since April; it does not leak from the roof, and it has not yet been backfilled.
I have received many contradictory pieces of advice from carpenters on how it should be done. No one can tell me where the moisture is coming from or how I should proceed.
Any tips/suggestions???
