Hello,
I have received a calculation indicating that I should replace a wall with a 405x90x4500 glulam beam. In various threads here on the forum, there's reference to a .pdf document containing a list of steel beam equivalents. In the mentioned list, it states that an IPE200 can be used instead of a 405x90.
I would like to do some calculations myself on this, but I quickly realize it's difficult to find all the data needed, such as the E-modulus for a glulam beam. At the same time, I suspect that a glulam beam likely does not have the same characteristics as, for example, a steel beam, but the question is whether there is a good model, or if there are standard values for E-modulus etc. that are used for calculations.
Or to put the question more briefly; What values for glulam should I use to calculate equivalents in other materials and geometries?
Kind regards,
Fredrik
