Hello!
New first-time homeowner, need some help knowing which threads to start pulling.

Current stove:
Brick fireplace with a metal hood in a living room, surrounded by toy boxes and a small red wagon.

Desired style:

Modern glass-enclosed fireplace in a living room with wooden floors, neutral walls, and minimalist decor including framed art and a sofa set.

Must we first;
- demolish the existing one
- build up to the firebox
- get a welder to construct some form of steel structure/frame that we can both have glass in and also continue to build with masonry up to the ceiling?

Do you use a special type of glass?

Is there a place where you can get ready-to-use solutions for this type of inserts?

Grateful for all advice and tips!

Best regards,
Trym
