Hello!

Is there a minimum width for edge elements that is recommended when they are cut? My slab will be 2.7x5m, which results in needing 2 pieces of 20cm and 2 pieces of 30cm.
Is it common to cut two elements so you get 70+70cm instead of 120+20cm?

The edge elements have no structural function.
They are primarily meant to act as a mold.

So the issues you might have with short pieces involve getting them in place straight and well and ensuring they stay in place during the casting.

Then there's an aesthetic aspect.

I haven't found any rule about minimum length and never heard of such a thing.

So I think you should consider these three questions.
What do you think about the appearance with two seams in the foundation close to each other?
And how do you ensure that a short piece is straight and at the same height and well-positioned during installation and casting?
Don't forget that foam sealant is your best friend here.

The smallest piece ended up being 26cm, and it looked just fine.
