Hi,
I need to create a control plan for the building permit. We're planning to have a mezzanine on the upper floor, and they want sizing for the mezzanine floor joists. Can anyone suggest where I can get something like that done? I talked to the architect and he couldn't provide any. Is it possible to ask those at the sawmill where the timber is to be purchased, do they have any knowledge about this?
The carpenter who will do the job recommended something, but will it suffice for the municipality? It feels like they want some calculation showing what the dimensions should be. Not something we've just talked about.
The room downstairs will be 3 meters wide. Then it extends 1 meter beyond that on the upper floor. We've discussed 45x220, which I think seems reasonable.
Any tips and thoughts on that?
