Metal sheets in corners under plasterboard?

if you have studs joined together standing to form the corner, and then plywood on it, then metal plates shouldn't be needed behind drywall, right? I've used them before with horizontal studs but then it has been "free" behind. Or is it still recommended?

No, if you have studs behind the entire inner corner, then metal brackets are not needed behind.

If the reglarna are screwed together, it's not needed.
