Metal rails - What are they used for?

Found a bunch of metal rails of various sizes in the attic that someone seems to have left behind... Does anyone here have any idea what they might be used for?

Have no idea but think it looks like those that stores use to build their interiors? Like checkout counters, shelving systems, display cases, etc.

Has there perhaps been a store owner living in the house before?
