There are countless threads about how moisture generation works in basements/crawl spaces, etc. Different temperatures, humidity levels in the air, etc., can contribute to this. Isn't there a simple meter that can indicate the risk of condensation? As input, you just need the air temperature in the basement, the temperature on the wall surface, and the relative humidity in the air in the basement. From that, you can calculate the dew point and compare it with the surface temperature of the basement wall/crawl space floor. You can measure everything separately and then do some calculations, but there ought to be a simple measurement station that alerts when needed. I have the feeling that not everyone quite understands how it all fits together.
