Hi,
Has anyone tried Maxseal (http://www.bcn.se/betong/prod.html) as a waterproofing layer outdoors on a balcony floor that is also a cellar roof? Has anyone tried similar products?

Hi Torparn, have you received any answers/ideas since last time?
I haven't tried it, but I myself am going to paint my concrete terrace and maybe
it could work, it is waterproof and should withstand wear and tear according to the manufacturer "best in test".
It would be interesting to hear from someone who has painted a rooftop terrace with such
material if it holds up after years of use. / Christian

Unfortunately, I never received a response to my question. I decided to use Sika's equivalent (Topseal 107), their support was very helpful. I am satisfied with the result, the terrace became watertight and the material was easy to work with. To be on the safe side, I placed sheet metal under the decking.

Sounds exciting!! We're in the same situation and have thought that at some point we should tackle the terrace as well. It's quite damp in the room under the terrace...

It will be perfect for me with this, but I would prefer a different brighter color than gray or white.
Currently, I have a plastic roof over my patio that directs away rain, etc., but it would be nice to
sit under the open sky in the spring & autumn sun without worrying about water in the room below.

I did it like this:
Chiseled away the "upper" layer of concrete and the old sheet metal. In my case, there was an additional 4-5cm poured on top of the sheet metal.
Under the additional concrete, there was a layer of asphalt or something similar, which I removed using a Flex machine that I rented from Cramo. First, I tried with a power grinder using different discs. I also tested with a diamond blade on the grinder, but it didn't work as well as the Flex machine. Removed about 1-2cm so fine and clean concrete emerged.
Mixed Sika Topseal according to the instructions and used a large brush and "painted on" two layers.
Then I framed and laid regular sheet metal (TP20) between the frames. Screwed 45x45 with a suitable slope as support for the sheet metal. Used silicone in the seams between the sheet metal and the frame to make it tighter.
Screwed decking on top.
It seems to hold tight. The water that comes through the sheet metal construction drains easily off the concrete, and it doesn't seem like any moisture penetrates into the basement below.
