I've started renovating our newly purchased cottage. Initially, I planned to tear off everything loose on the walls and use renovation plasterboard, but then I decided to do it properly. So I'm tearing down the thick (>1cm?) "paper boards" and plan to put up new boards to wallpaper on. Is it best to use 13mm plasterboard directly against the planks, or should I have something in between? The ceiling will also be clad in beadboard, but I'm a bit unsure whether to put beadboard on the sloped part as well or wallpaper it, any tips?
Plaster directly on the wooden walls, if they are really uneven you can glue the backside and use screws to support them so you don't crack the boards if you fully screw them in.
Personally, I would lower the ceiling on the broken part, I have it like that at home myself and think it's nice.
